Are you interested in dyslexia or attention deficit disorder? The first thing you should know is that these so-called “learning disabilities” are really learning differences. Both dyslexia and ADD are mixes of difficulties and strengths. Some things that society takes for granted like reading, spelling, the ability to concentrate are more difficult for us. At the same time, people with dyslexia or ADD are often unusually creative, innovative and independent.

The Pool Learning Center is here to help both students and adults who have dyslexia and ADD, as well as their parents, teachers and professionals, who work with them.

Mission:

The Pool Learning Center's mission is to provide a healthy and supportive program in a natural environment for children and parents to manage the challenges of Dyslexia.

Eligibility:

Any child with a specific learning disability in the area of reading is eligible. There is a small co-payment for this tutoring service.

Staff:

Our tutors are professionals who have been trained in the Orton Gillingham program, a proven research - based reading system.

Volunteers:

Our Board of Directors are individuals from all walks of life. We are fortunate to have scores of volunteers of all ages ready and willing to help with our projects.

Funding:

The Pool Learning Center is a Vermont 501(c)(3) charitable organization and has been fortunate to receive funding from Foundation Grants, Corporate Donations, Planned Gifts, special events and individual donations.

The Pool Learning Center depends on the generosity of individuals and organizations to help the center meet its service commitment within the community.
